Jaswant Birdi is Lord Mayor

Cllr Jaswant Singh Birdi received the Chains of Office on Thursday 18th May and will be Lord Mayor for the year of 2023/24 with his wife Lady Mayoress, Krishna Birdi, on his side. Coventry Conservatives congratulate Jaswant and wish both him and his wife a great year ahead. Jaswant is the first turban wearing Mayor of Coventry city!

Jaswant was elected to the City Council on 22 May 2014 to represent Bablake Ward. He is a Civil Engineer by profession. In the 2005 General Election, he contested the Coventry North East parliamentary constituency.
