Coventry Conservative Federation Chairman, John Blundell and Local Wyken Campaigner, Frank Beechey, have been working hard to keep the trees in Clifford Bridge Road which are due to be felled to make way for a new section of the Binley Cycle Pathway through to UHCW

Despite a 4000 plus strong petition and other (some more direct routes) which would not involve the destruction of 26 mainly perfectly healthy trees, the Cabinet Member, Cllr Hetherton approved the decision to go ahead with the scheme starting in January 2025.

This decision has now been challenged via a process known as ‘Call In’ and is due to be re-examined by the Council’s Scrutiny process which will decide whether to uphold the decision or refer it back to the cabinet member for further consideration.
